Our Great Adventure
It all started with an idea. Women wanted clothes as unique and special as they were and wanted to enjoy shopping again! And, women needed flexible ways to work without being asked to choose between family life or a career. Carol Anderson, a successful fashion designer and Kimberly Inskeep, an accomplished Management Consultant, dreamed of creating one solution to address both problems. Together with the 10 Founders, they wondered…would bringing designer fashion into a girlfriend’s living room with a Stylist offering personalized style and ideas bring back the joy of shopping while offering a fun and flexible career option? The answer turned out to be a resounding, “YES!”

Over 2,500 cabi Fashion Experiences...and Counting!
After our first year, it was clear—women were loving the cabi Fashion Experience and wanted more! With only 105 Stylists, we surpassed 2,612 shows by the end of 2003. Fast-forward to our 20th birthday, and we’ve had nearly 1.5 million shows across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.

What is The Scoop?
Think New York Fashion Week…cabi style! Balloons and confetti drops, music that has you dancing in your seats, hugs from friends from all over, and clothes…oh the clothes! Stylists across the globe gather for the unveiling of our newest Collection in a runway show. At this bi-annual event, Stylists receive in-depth training about the Collection, the season’s latest trends, and business updates so they’re equipped to serve and style clients well. Thousands of women in one place dressed in their cabi cutest? Yeah, they have a whole lot of fun!
Year 2005
United States of cabi
By 2005, we surpassed 1,000 Stylists across the U.S. (1,217 to be exact!), and cabi was serving up fashion, friends, and fun to women in 46 states. Needless to say, women couldn’t get enough! Clients were raving about the fun they were having shopping with their friends, and they placed 329,000 orders at cabi Fashion Experiences this year. Cabi was indeed bringing a better way to shop to women who craved it.

During those early brainstorming sessions, we established our creed, “to affect lives through relationships” because relationships meant (and still mean) everything to us. In 2005, after hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Shores, we found another way to live out our creed when we established The Heart of cabi Foundation. Today, our Foundation encourages and empowers women in need through three ways: restoration by helping women recover from vulnerable circumstances, vocation by offering small business loans in developing countries, and education by supporting schools in Rwanda.

The Million Dollar Stylist
Brenda, a Stylist from Birmingham, AL who started her cabi business in Fall 2003, became the first to hit $1 million in sales, and we celebrated her like crazy at the following Scoop. Since then, nearly 200 Stylists have reached this remarkable milestone. Reaching this achievement only fueled Brenda’s momentum—today, she’s one of only two Stylists who crossed over $5 million in sales in 2021. Congratulations to all our phenomenal Million Dollar Milestone achievers.

Shopping for Good
Cabi debuted its first Heart of cabi item in Spring 2008, the Ticking Tote. Since then, the Design Team has selected a special item from each Collection as the Heart of cabi item. Proceeds from the sale of these pieces are donated to The Heart of cabi Foundation to fund domestic restoration efforts. This includes giving away free clothing to communities hit by natural disasters and partnering with local nonprofit organizations to serve women going through vulnerable life circumstances. To date, we’ve hosted 282 giving events, where 7,075 cabi Stylist volunteers have given away 330,000 clothing items in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.

Welcome Katie Malone
Katie Malone joined cabi as the Vice President of Marketing & Events in Spring 2013 leading our global marketing strategy and brand positioning. She’d begun her marketing career at Speedo, which honed her strategic thinking skills and creative vision for fashion brands. Katie’s experience allows her to understand the cabi customer AND cabi Stylist, consistently coming up with innovative ways to reach them. Today, she serves as our President & Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing field strategy and driving global sales, team building, and retention. She also throws the best cabi Fashion Experiences twice each season at her home in Huntington Beach, CA, and her friend group is now full of loyal cabi fans.
Benvenuto, Daniele
A native of Milan, Italy, Daniele Trussardi had an impressive resume working for brands like Ann Taylor and Calvin Klein, making him an excellent choice for cabi’s new Creative Director. He also joined in Spring 2013, and since then, Daniele’s extensive design and marketing experience has grown as he’s fearlessly led our women’s fashion brand in a bold new direction as Vice President of Creative & Events—elevating the energy, sophistication, and charm of the cabi brand. Cabi Stylists can’t get enough insight into his seasonal campaigns and the accent he shares it with!

A New Look
Taking a fresh approach to cabi’s evolving, charmingly feminine aesthetic, we traded in the beloved little pink dress for a sleek-yet-approachable logo in a custom font. And, inspired by the strength of our connected community and a common goal to empower women, we reimagined the power of pink with unpredictable pops to add a touch of whimsy and femininity. The result was both bold and modern—a look that both expresses and reflects our legacy.
Introducing the Notion
Our first style magazine, the Notion by cabi, was published in 2015 and instantly became a bedside staple! The magazine of style, opportunity, and purpose gives our clients style and ideas for the current Collection. The seasonal publication features the latest trend reports, editorials that deliver fabulous outfit inspo, and articles by cabi executives.
cabi Goes International
Women everywhere—cousins, college friends, strangers on airplanes—wanted access to these clothes, so we spread the transformative spirit of cabi by expanding internationally! We launched cabi in Canada in Fall 2015, followed by the U.K. one year later in 2016. Some of our pioneer Stylists in these countries had been patiently waiting for years to start their cabi businesses, and our U.S. Stylists were eager to expand their teams internationally.
W.E. are cabi
The Heart of cabi Foundation expands its reach to impact women entrepreneurs around the globe through the launch of the W.E. are cabi Program, a one-for-one small business loan and mentorship program in partnership with Opportunity International. For every new cabi Stylist, cabi funds a small business loan in her name for a woman entrepreneur in a developing country to start her own business.
Each small business loan created through a new cabi Stylist ultimately turns into five loans over time, greatly extending the personal good she brings to the world. To date, cabi Stylists have funded 18,365 small business loans! We believe cabi exists for a purpose, and when we’re united around that purpose, working synergistically, we can affect tremendous change for the better, around the world. This program is our dream come true!

Our personal styling app, cabi Tap, gives you daily outfit ideas and an easy-to-manage virtual closet full of the cabi pieces you own, plus mix-and-match recommendations and recently added ideas for every budget. Shop confidently on the go or use it at a show—browse the digital Look Book, send your order directly to your Stylist, and track it as it finds its way home to you. Yep, we’ve got an app for that.

cabi Front Row: Get Together While Staying Apart
The year the world shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic was one that has changed our generation. Fashion wasn’t anyone’s top priority in those early weeks and months…safety and financial stability were at the forefront of everyone’s minds. How could we continue serving women when our business was based on gathering in homes? Thanks to cabi Front Row, our Stylists quickly pivoted and served their clients virtually, offering much-needed connection during a time of separation.
Our Front Row technology brings the cabi Fashion Experience to you, no matter where you are! Do your sister, BFF, and previous next-door neighbor live out of town and you wish they could enjoy cabi together? Not a problem! Our interactive platform lets you and your girlfriends connect in the comfort of your own home through a video chat feature while you all enjoy a front row seat to a runway show. And, your Stylist is there to provide an effortless shopping experience as she helps you find pieces that not only have the perfect fit but are perfect for you!

After two years of meeting virtually, our community came together in person to revel in our 20 years of bringing the goodness of cabi to women…and what a time we had! Enter cabi on the block as we took over a street in downtown Phoenix for an outdoor street party and danced the night away. We celebrated that when we embraced CHANGE while holding true to our relationship-centric VALUES, we discovered WONDER. And in a spirit of WONDER, we saw OPPORTUNITY. Here’s to 20 more years of goodness, inspired by our first.
